PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display accurate MIDI data including information on the strength of each sound even as to chords. SOLUTION: A two-dimensional coordinate system which has a time base (t) as its lateral axis and a scale axis S as its longitudinal axis is defined on a music score and triangles Za and Zb having their bases in parallel to the time base (t) are arranged to represent musical performance information regarding specific notes. According to scale coordinates of the bases of the triangles, note numbers N1 and N2 indicating scales are represented and according to the heights V1 and V2 of the triangles, a velocity Von indicating note-ON strength is represented. The left end of the base of the triangle indicates a sounding start operation point and the right end indicates a sounding end operation point. In case of a chord, the triangles are displayed overlapping with each other. A black key sound is represented by painting the inside of the triangle in black and different color displays can be made by 'dow', 're', 'mi', 'fa'.... When long music is displayed, the triangles are scrolled to the left in timing to the real time.
