PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost integrated unit and an optical pickup device which are excellent in miniaturization, mass-productivity and also reliability, by allowing the stable recording/reproducing operation even for an optical disk having a large double refractivity. SOLUTION: In the integrated circuit 1 whereon a light source 2, a photodetector 3 and a diffraction unit 5 are integrated, a thin film (phase difference film) generating the phase difference is formed on the rear surface of the diffraction element by obliquely vapor-depositing a metallic oxide film, and the polarizing state of an emitting beam of the integrated unit is changed from the linear polarization. |
