PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device capable of making access time definite redardlessly of a seek distance. SOLUTION: This disk device resets a track skew TrkSkew and a cylinder skew CylSkew for the unit of three tracks and in the head of a cylinder CYL for each unit of three tracks, the track skew TrkSkew and the cylinder skew CylSkew do not exist. Thus, a disk is formatted so that the physical leading position of CHUNK (block) can be equal on all disk surfaces.
