PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely make to recognize a corresponding relation between the individual disk drives of a changer device accessing the disk drives from a computer system using a SCSI bus of not less than two systems and element addresses on which they are installed to a computer system side when the multiple disk drives exceeding the number of the device supports of the SCXSI bus of one system are incorporated. SOLUTION: A change controller 7 acquires identifiers peculiar to drives from plural incorporated disk drives through a local bus line prior to the control of disk transportation, recognizes the corresponding relation of element addresses and the disk drives and returns the recognized corresponding relation to a computer system through an SCSI controller in response to the arrival of a first request command. The disk drive returns the identifier to a computer system 600 through the SCSI controller in response to the arrival of a second request command.
