PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of restraining degradation in optical characteristic due to temperature rise. SOLUTION: A circuit board 48 on which a semiconductor laser 46 is mounted is attached to the wall surface 12A of an optical box 12. A collimating lens 16 disposed in a lens barrel 50 is arranged on a protrusion 52 formed on the base 12B of the optical box 12. An L-shaped coupling member 60 whose linear expansion coefficient is smaller than that of the optical box 12 is fixed on the wall surface 12A and the base 12B of the optical box 12. Therefore, distance change between a semiconductor laser 46 and the lens when temperature rises is restrained in comparison with that in the case of using the optical box 12 singly. As a result, the degradation in the optical characteristic of the optical scanner 10 is restrained.
