ANTIVIRAL AGENT IN THE FORM OF NOSE DROPS

The present invention can be used in pharmacology and more precisely in the preparation of interferon-containing compositions which are capable of maintaining their bio-activity and which can be used as a drug administered through the nose, e.g. in the preparation of nose drops. This invention essentially relates to an antiviral agent in the form of nose drops that contains a genetically engineered alpha, beta or gamma interferon with a viscosity of (1.1- 30.0).10 Pa.s., as well as a biocompatible polymer and a buffer mixture. The agent may further include an antioxidant, and the components are selected in the following amounts for 1 ml of buffer mixture: from 1000 to 500000 ME of genetically engineered interferon; from 0.005 to 0.714 g of biocompatible polymer; and from 0.0001 to 0.0008 g of antioxidant. The antioxidant consists of Trilon B, while the biocompatible polymer consists of polyvinylpyrrolidone and/or polyethyleneoxide, wherein the polyvinylpyrrolidone and the polyethyleneoxide are selected according to a 1:1-50 ratio.
