PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decompose organic halide, in particular, polychlorobiphenyls with high efficiency and at a low cost in a method of decomposing by oxidation organic matter in an oxidization reactor under supercritical water conditions by directly introducing hydrogen peroxide into a mixed one-phase system of carrier water and the organic mater. SOLUTION: In a method of decomposing by oxidation organic matter under supercritical water conditions, hydrogen peroxide is directly introduced into a mixed one-phase system of carrier water and the organic matter. The organic matter to be decomposed is exemplified by an organic chloride such as PCB's, organic halide, and the like. By this decomposition method, a flow type continuous decomposition device is used, for example, under reaction conditions of 300 atm pressure, 380-400 deg.C temperature, and reaction time of 56 sec, a decomposition experiment of PCB's by hydrogen peroxide is performed, thereby decomposing PCB's with a high conversion rate under reaction conditions of low temperature and short time. In particular, when aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide is injected into a uniformly mixed layer of supercritical water and PCB's under supercritical conditions immediately before the reaction tube, the decomposition efficiency of PCB's attains 99%.
|
