PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink for ink-jet recording having excellent drying properties, high image quality and high concentration free from bleeding and to provide a method for ink-jet recording using the ink. SOLUTION: In this aqueous ink comprising a pigment self dispersible into water, a water-soluble organic solvent and water as essential components, zeta- potential of the pigment self disipersible into water in ink is -10 to -35 mV and the amount of neutralization titration of the pigment self dispersible into water is 0.1-0.6 mmol/g. An image is formed by using the ink for ink-jet recording by an ink-jet recording apparatus. Preferably, the amount of the ink per ink drop delivered is <=25 ng. |
