PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chopping board and a kitchen storage cabinet for the chopping board, which can produce good sterilizing effects. SOLUTION: The figure shows that a light source (sterilization lamp) 2, which can radiate ultraviolet rays, is set within an outer shell 1 of a transparent acrylic resin or glass, which can transmit ultraviolet rays, and shows a chopping board M wherein receiving terminals 3 are provided at an end of the board 1 so as to be electrically connected to the light source 2. If the surface of the shell 1 is coated with a photocatalyst such as titanium dioxide, dirt attached to the surface of the shell 1 can be easily decomposed by ultraviolet rays radiated from the source 2. A kitchen storage cabinet including a lighting system which can turn on the light source 2 of the board M is disclosed. The system senses that the terminals 3 of the board M are connected to power terminals of the system and a door of the kitchen cabinet is closed to turn on the light source 2 for a predetermined time.
