PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear connecting structure of a side impact bar which achieves a cost reduction, ease of assembly and strength. SOLUTION: A side impact bar 5 is disposed between the door inner panel 3 and the door outer panel 4 of a side door along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and has its front part spot-welded to the front transverse wall 3a of the door inner panel 3 and to a vertical wall 3b joined to the transverse wall 3a. The inner panel transverse wall junction 5e of a junction 5e extended backward at the rear of the side impact bar 5 is joined to the rear transverse wall 3c of the door inner panel 3, and joint flanges 5f, 5g formed respectively at the upper and lower ends of the inner panel transverse wall junction 5e along the longitudinal direction and overhanging outward of the vehicle are fitted into the upper and lower junctions 9b, 9c of a bracket 9 provided in such a way as to overhang outward of the vehicle at a vertical wall 3d joined to the rear transverse wall 3c, the joint flanges 5f, 5g being spot-welded to the junctions 9b, 9c.
