PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a centerless grinding method to perform high-precision grinding of a workpiece, having a recessed part, such as a groove, formed in a part of a cylinder surface to be ground as constant rotation is exerted on the workpiece. SOLUTION: This centerless grinding method is that with a workpiece 3 supported by regulation grinding wheels 5 and 6 and a blade, the workpiece 3 having a recessed part 2, such as groove, formed in a part of cylinder surfaces 1a and 1b to be ground is ground for rounding by a grinding wheel 4. In this ease, the portions having no recessed part 2 or the portions, descreased in the recessed part 2, of the cylinder surfaces 1a and 1b to be ground are ground in a supported state by a rubbery regulation grinding wheel 5, and a portion having the recessed part 2 by the regulation grinding wheel 6 of a material reduced in elastic deformation.
