PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate maintenance and repair when an attachment and the like for a cargo handling gear are changed/added, or in the case of replacement or inspection, after a fork lift is delivered, and to secure an excellent rear view field. SOLUTION: An upper space 21, a right lower space 22 and a left lower space 23 are provided respectively in an upper heavy weight portion 11 and a lower heavy weight portion 12 of a counter weight 1 made of a rigid body, and different kind of a filling material 4 having high specific gravity is put into the respective spaces 21, 22, 23 to fill them. In the counter weight 1 of a type having an outer shell made of a sheet metal, plural spaces are provided in its inside to facilitate the filling of the material 4, alternatively the upper weight portion 11 of the counter weight 1 is eliminated to be only the lower weight portion 12, plural spaces are provided on the inside of the counter weight 1 having the outer shell made of cast iron or the sheet metal to facilitate the filling of the material 4, a silencer, a related component or the like is mounted on its upper side, and a rear cover made of a thin sheet is attached to be easily taken out.
