PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external wall material receiving member having both the excellent contact and workability for a wall plate of the receiving member to fix the wall plate, and the sufficient watertightness. SOLUTION: In an external wall receiving member, a longitudinal piece 11a along a back side of a wall plate 3 is integrated with a transverse piece 11b along a lower end of the wall plate 3, an inclined surface 12 gradually expanded to the face side of the wall plate downward of an upper edge of the longitudinal direction piece 11a, a recessed portion 13 is formed below the inclined surface 12, a rib-like projecting portion 14 abutting on a lower end face of the wall plate 3 is formed on the transverse piece 11b, and a through hole 15 is formed in the surface of the transverse piece.
