PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily manufacture in good yield a long ink jet recording head having uniform ejection performance capable of eliminating occurrence of a difference in height between element substrates. SOLUTION: A plurality of element substrates 100 each having a plurality of ejection energy generating elements 101 each for ejecting a liquid are arranged on an identical support body at the same face and the element substrates 100 arranged on the support body are integrally covered with a plane member. After a photosensitive dry film 302 is cured, the plane member covering the ejection energy elements 101 and the portion in the vicinity thereof is removed. A member with grooves that comprises a plurality of grooves for forming fluid passages corresponding to the ejection energy generating elements 101 provided thereon and covers the ejection energy generating elements 101 is brought into intimate contact with the support body, thereby forming an ink jet recording head.
