GAS SHIELDING APPARATUS FOR WELDING OF TI OR ZR MATERIAL

PURPOSE: A titanium or zirconium welding gas shielding device is provided to enhance the quality of a welded material made from high oxidizing materials such as titanium or zirconium and to easily weld the material by surely shielding gas in any welding condition. CONSTITUTION: To shield gas when a V-groove welding portion(12) is welded, a groove shielding device(3), a welded material fixing upper plate(1) and a following shielding device(6) are used. The groove shielding device is made from aluminum to prevent the rear beads of the V-groove welding portion from being oxidized and to easily move. The welded material fixing upper plate made from aluminum, keeps a gas atmosphere by forming a space between a welded material(10) and the groove shielding device and welds the material in the gas atmosphere by intercepting air from the V-groove welding portion. The following shielding device prevents shielding gas from largely flowing at once by embedding a steel wool(7) inside for regularly supplying shielding gas. The welded material is put on the welded material fixing upper plate and the groove shielding device injects gas through a gas entrance(4). Then, a TIG(tungsten inert gas) welding torch(9) welds the welded material at the same time. The following shielding device regularly supplies gas after the welding.
