PURPOSE: A cooling fan for an AC generator is provided to reduce the resistance, the noise, and the vibration of the cooling wind and improve the cooling efficiency by improving the rotational direction of a fan. CONSTITUTION: A brush assembly(2), a stator assembly(3), a rotor assembly(4), a bearing(5), and a pulley(6) are installed in a housing(1). A cooling fan(7) is installed in the rotor assembly(4). A plurality of recess(9) is formed in a piece(8) towards the rotational direction of the fan(7). The distribution of the recess(9) is forty to sixty percent with respect to the area of the piece(8). According to the cooling fan for an AC generator, the resistance, the noise, and the vibration of the cooling wind is reduced and the cooling efficiency is improved by improving the rotational direction of a fan.
