PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is to constantly maintain a spacing between an upper substrate and a lower substrate, thereby exactly adjusting a thickness of a liquid crystal layer. CONSTITUTION: A transparent electrode is formed on an upper transparent substrate and a lower transparent substrate, respectively, and an alignment film is applied each transparent electrode. A sealant is applied on a longitudinal end of the upper transparent substrate, and a spacer is applied on the alignment film of the lower transparent substrate, so that the upper and lower transparent substrates are adhered to be opposed against each other to manufacture a liquid crystal display. A process of applying the spacer onto the alignment film is executed by following procedures. Silica and a polymer resin are fed into a supply tube having a downward nozzle in a specific ratio, so that the silica and the polymer resin are dropped from the nozzle. At that time, the spacer dropped from the nozzle is dispersed by a compressed air or nitrogen nozzle.
