PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To have viewing characteristics symmetrical to the center line and to widen the visual angle. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal cell 1 in which the liquid crystal molecules are filled and arranged in twisted in nematic(TN) alignment or super twisted nematic(STN) alignment, a first polarizing plate 2 provided opposite to a first principal plane of the liquid crystal cell 1 and transmitting linearly polarized light with a specified angle, a second polarizing plate 3 provided opposite to a second principal plane of the liquid crystal cell 1 and transmitting linearly polarized light orthogonally crossed with respect to the specified angle, a first optical compensation part 10 provided between the first principal plane of the liquid crystal cell 1 and the first polarizing plate 2 and optically compensating and a second optical compensation part 20 provided between the second principal plane of the liquid crystal cell 1 and the second polarizing plate 3 and optically compensating. |
