摘要 Conventionally, judgment of an edge pixel and judgment of a moiré pixel are carried out by separate processings, and image data correcting processings are separately carried out, relusting in that the processings and structure are complexed. Image data is aquried by an image input device such as a color scanner (20). The differences between the gradations of each of the pixels constituting the image data and its surrounding pixels are calculated, and the distribution of the gradation differences is created. It is possible to judge whether each pixel is an edge pixel, a moiré pixle, or an intermediate pixle by one-time processing based on the distribution. According to the judgment, if the pixel is an edge pixle, a sharpening filter is used; if the pixel is a moiré pixel, a smoothing filter is used; and if the pixle is an intermediate pixel, an image data correcting processing for maintaining the gradation of the original image is carried out. Consequently, a series of processings from the judgment to the correction can be carried out. The structure of the image data correcting processings from the judgment to the correction can be simplified, and the processing speed can be high. The user of a color copying machine (10) can obtain printed matters of properly corrected images.
