PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp, enhanced in a light reflecting function and productivity for its manufacturing through formation a luminescent layer on the inside surface of a glass bulb, by forming a reflecting layer between the glass bulb and the luminescent layer or on the outside surface of the glass bulb, enclosing an inactive gas and mercury in the glass bulb, and imparting conductivity to the reflecting layer. SOLUTION: A reflecting layer 2 having an aperture part 2a with an opening angleθof 50-120 deg., for instance, is formed on the inside surface of a straight tube-like glass bulb 1. The reflecting layer 2 is formed by vacuum-depositing a metal material such as aluminum, silver or gold, and its total-length resistance is set in the range of 30-1,000 kΩ, preferably in the range of 100-400 kΩ. A protective layer 3 having translucency and insulating capability is formed on the inside surface of the glass bulb 1, corresponding to the reflecting layer 2 and the aperture part 2a. Since the inside surface of the glass bulb 1 has a three-layer structure composed of the reflecting layer 2, the protective layer 3 and a luminescent layer 4, its structure is simplified and this productivity in manufacturing it is improved.
