PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably operate a deodorizing apparatus for a long time and to improve deodorizing effect. SOLUTION: This deodorizing apparatus is provided with a biological deodorizing tower 1 with packed layers 4 and 5 which biologically deodorize bad odor gas, an ozone mixing means 14 wherein the bad odor gas exhausted from the deodorizing tower 1 is mixed with ozone gas and a catalytic reaction tower 18 wherein the bad odor gas and the ozone gas are brought into contact with a catalyst 22. In this case, at first, majority of hydrogen sulfide is removed by biological deodorizing treatment in the packed layers 4 and 5 in the deodorizing tower 1 and the bad odor gas exhausted from the deodorizing tower 1 is mixed with the ozone gas by the ozone mixing means 14. When the bad odor gas is brought into contact with the catalyst in the catalytic reaction tower 18, it is turned into odorless gas by being efficiently oxidized or decomposed with the ozone gas and sulfur is sufficiently prevented from being deposited on the catalyst 22. |
