PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate rapid thermal decomposition facilities and to stably feed a formed gas regardless of an operation trouble by using a solid carbonaceous raw material, or the like, as a fuel for gasification when a char to be fed to a gasification furnace is insufficient. SOLUTION: When a char to be fed to a gasification furnace 1 is insufficient, a solid carbonaceous raw material such as coal and/or a liquid carbonaceous generating such as naphtha and/or a gas carbonaceous raw material such as liquefied natural gas is used as a fuel for gasification to operate rapid thermal decomposition facilities. The apparatus used for operating the rapid thermal decomposition facilities is preferably constituted by installing a feed amount calculating/controlling apparatus 13 for calculating and controlling the feed amount of a carbonaceous raw material feeder 11 for feeding the solid carbonaceous raw material and/or the liquid carbonaceous raw material and/or the gas carbonaceous raw material to the gasification furnace 1 separately from an apparatus 10 for supplying the char to the gasification furnace 1.
