PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harvesting machine capable of not increasing the total length of the machine body even in the presence of a soil-moving means, also stabilizing the progressing direction of the machine body on moving the soil with the soil-moving means, and preventing an excessive load from the ground affecting the soil-moving means so as to prevent the soil-moving means and its supporting mechanism from a damage and the supporting mechanism of the soil moving means from a jolt. SOLUTION: This harvesting machine for a root vegetable for working so as to pull out and harvest the root vegetable planted in a field, is provided by installing a soil-moving means 49 for moving the soil at the rear position of crawlers 2a, 2b as capable of swinging in a prescribed range around a shaft 70 pointing front to rear, and also energizing it toward the soil-moving functional position side in the above swinging direction with an elastic member 718.
