PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the axial dimension of an angle head and automatically attach/detach a tool in a tool attaching/detaching device for an angle head attached to main spindle of a machine body and machining in a different direction from the main spindle. SOLUTION: When a main spindle 21 is rotated by a drive source via a gear 22 with a draw bar 23 set unable to rotate by engaging piston rod 25 of a cylinder 24 with a groove of the draw bar 23, a core bar 27 is lowered by a dimension T so as to lower 28a a blade 28, thereby releasing a collet. A tool 31 is carried by a grip 30 to be inserted in the collet. After that, the main spindle 21 is reversed, the core bar 27 is raised on a male screw of the draw bar 23 by the dimension T so that the tool 31 is held by the collet. The grip 30 is thus moved to a position not to interfere the machining operation of the main spindle 21 and the piston rod 25 is retreated to set the draw bar 23 into a rotatable state, thereby completing the attaching operation of the tool. |
