<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute the assignment of cells to a band setting table so as to suppress the occurrence of collision, and to enable reading while suppressing cell delay fluctuation by calculating the timing, with which the cell of an ATM virtual connection(VC) as an assignment object first appears in the band setting table, as an initial value. SOLUTION: Based on the capacity value of each VC applied from an input device 1, a cell assignment interval to assign the cells of respective VC to the band setting table is calculated. Besides, the respective VC are sorted in the descending order of capacity values, the most significant VC is selected and as the timing with which the cell of the assignment object VC first appears in the table the initial value is calculated. After the initial value of VC is determined, the cells of VC in the group of assignment object VC are successively assigned to the table at the cell assignment interval as many as the number of cells corresponding to the capacity values. In the case of collision in the cell of the assignment object cell, the preceding and following streams in the table are retrieved, the stream, to which cells are not assigned yet, are retrieved forward and backward within the range of allowable cell delay fluctuation values and the assigning position is adjusted.</p> |
