SUBSTANCE: invention describes the novel derivatives of 1,1-bis(heteroazolyl)alkanes of the general formula: where X1 and X2 mean independently O, S; Y1 and Y2 mean independently C or N under condition that at least one of Y1 and Y2 is N; Y3 and Y4 mean independently C or N under condition that at least one of Y3 and Y4 is N; each of R1 and R2 means one or two groups taken independently of H, lower alkyl, lower (alkoxy-lower)-alkyl and A means where W is O, NH; R3 means H, alkyl or lower acyl; R4 means lower alkyl or lower perfluoroalkyl, or their optical isomers and racemates. Invention relates to also their pharmaceutically acceptable salts with acids under condition that 1,1-di-(2-thiazolyl)-ethanol is excluded. The above indicated compounds are able to inhibit the slow neurons dying off in bilateral occlusion ischemia model in gerbils. Compounds show valuable properties in treatment of patients with acute and chronic neuropsychiatric disorders. Invention describes also method of their synthesis, pharmaceutical composition and method of treatment using compounds of the formula (I).
