PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize physical and image defect types during the time when an imaging material is cooled by disposing a movement mechanism to give rise to relative movements between first and second rollers. SOLUTION: An imaging material transmission mechanism 90 has the movement mechanism for executing the relative movement between first and second drive nip rollers 92A and 92B between first and second positions. In the first position, the first and second rollers 92A and 92B engages a heat treatable material (TPM) 11 so as to carry the TPM 11 onto a cooling body 44. In the second position, the TPM 11 is substantially freely movable with respect to the first and second rollers 92A and 92B. In the second position, the outside surface 99 of the second drive nip roller 92B is parted from the outside surface 99 of the first drive nip roller 92A by a nip aperture 103 having a width larger than the thickness of the TPM 11 in such a manner that the TPM 11 can move substantially freely through the nip aperture 103.
