PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a scanner capable of doubling the processing speed of a bar code reader even while maintaining the decoding accuracy of the bar code reader equivalently to a conventional practice. SOLUTION: In this scanner having a laser light source 22, a rotational polygon mirror 26, a total reflection type turning back mirror 30 and light receiving parts 32, 34 and 36 receiving reflected light from a bar code label 58, scanning beams 48 and 50 are doubled by arranging a half-mirror type turning back mirror 28 between the mirrors 26 and 30. |
