PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester fiber suitable for reinforcing a plastic hose, and to provide a twisted yarn cord using the fibers. SOLUTION: This polyester fiber for a resin hose comprises a polyester wherein >=90 mol.% of the total repeating units of the molecular chain are ethylene terephthalate units, and has the following characteristics (1) to (4). (1), the intrinsic viscosity (IV): 0.70-1.05. (2), the strength: >=8.0 g/d. (3), the dry heat shrinkage percent at 180 deg.C: 8.0-14%. (4), the heat shrinkage stress at 180 deg.C: 0.15-0.35 g/d. The twisted yarn cord for a plastic hose is obtained by twisting the polyester fibers for the plastic hose.
