PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately detect a position and the direction of an apparatus such as a probe in a magnetic shield by forming a magnetic resonance imaging marker of a marker substance for generating a magnetic resonance signal and a control means for controlling strength of the magnetic resonance signal generated by this substance. SOLUTION: This marker 20 is made by sealing a substance for issuing an MR signal such as oil in a resin vessel having the spherical content unit volume. A resonance circuit composed of a capacitor 14 and a coil 12 resonating by a Ramour frequency is arranged in the vicinity of the marker 20 to emphasize a signal from the marker 20. A PIN diode 16 is arranged to be connected in parallel to the resonance circuit, and a choke coil 18 is arranged so as to check a high frequency current. Thus, the marker 20 can be efficiently detected by controlling strength of the MR signal issued from the marker 20, and the resonance circuit arranged in the vicinity of the marker 20 is controlled to be turned on and off to realize efficient marker detection.
