PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dispersant capable of providing a stable electrophotographic photoreceptor without losing high sensitivity and without causing reduction in static electrification and rise in residual potential even by repeated use by using a specific organic pigment. SOLUTION: In this method for preparing a dispersion by using an organic pigment by a process being a crystal conversion process for controlling a crystal form by a wet method in a final process in a pigment preparation, a dispersion means is also used in the crystal conversion process. The pigment to be prepared is simultaneously subjected to crystal conversion and dispersion without passing through a drying process. A resin is also used in a crystal conversion solvent. The organic pigment to be prepared is a phthalocyanine-based pigment and is especially preferably titanylphthalocyanine having 27.2 deg.±0.2 deg. maximum diffraction peak by Bragg angle 2θof at least CuKαcharacteristic X-ray (1.514A wavelength).
