PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring a life time of a getter are provided to measure a life time of a getter by utilizing a changing characteristic of the getter. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring a life time of a getter comprises the amplification portion, a current meter or a resistance meter(16), and a direct or an alternating power supply portion(17). The amplification portion is formed with variable resistances(11,12), coils(13,14), and a steel wire(15). A signal generation portion for detecting the generation of an over-current may be installed within the current meter(16). In addition, the signal generation portion may be formed with a device for detecting the generation of an over-resistance.
