PURPOSE: A gas breaker of a gas range is provided to prevent gas from being supplied to a burner securely and doubly in wrong operation of a gas range. CONSTITUTION: A gas breaker comprises a main pipe(30) guiding gas into a gas range; a branch pipe diverging from the main pipe and guiding gas to a burner; a first gas breaking unit shutting off gas from the branch pipe in abnormal state of the burner; and a second gas shutoff unit shutting off gas from the main pipe. The second gas shutoff unit has a shutoff valve shutting off gas supply of the main pipe, a flame detecting sensor(14) detecting flame of the burner, an ignition switch(18) detecting a state of an ignition knob(16) igniting the burner, and a control unit(20) detecting the abnormal state based on signals from the flame detecting sensor and the ignition switch and shutting off the main pipe with driving the shutoff valve in the abnormal state.
