The melt spinning assembly, for spinning filaments (15) by extrusion through the openings in a spinneret (2) to be gathered into a bundle (4), has a cooling box (3) around the filament path under the spinneret. The cooling box (3) has a blower wall (5), where a coolant air flow is directed through it at the filaments, which is fitted to upper and lower straight guides (11,12). The wall slides within the guides to be removed from the cooling box for cleaning and returned into place. The wall guides (11,12) are aligned across or along the filament path in the cooling box (3). The blower wall (5) is locked in position, in the cooling box (3). The guides, for the blower wall (5), are two parallel rails (11,12) fitted into the cooling box (3) to give a positive fit for the wall (5). The rails (11,12) have a U-shaped cross section, for the wall (5) to fit within the grooves of the rails. A number of sliding bodies can be between the rails (11,12) and the blower wall (5), mounted either at the rails (11,12) or the wall (5). The rails (11,12) are structured for the wall (5) to be inserted and removed selectively at one end or the other. As the wall is removed for cleaning, a replacement wall is inserted simultaneously.
