PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of a liquid crystal display panel by which decrease in the display quality of the liquid crystal panel by rubbing treatment can be prevented and the productivity can be improved. SOLUTION: The method for the production of a liquid crystal display panel having a liquid crystal which fills the space between a pair of glass substrates includes a process to form an org. alignment film 3 in the liquid crystal panel display area of the surface of the glass substrate 1, a process to form a step 4 in the peripheral region of the liquid crystal panel display region so that the step surrounds the display region, and a process to subject the glass substrate with the org. alignment film 3 and the step 4 formed to alignment treatment by rubbing.
