PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost glass having low reflectance to visible rays without drawbacks such as an undesirable effect on the environment due to reflection of light, showing high heat ray shielding property and a green or blue hue which is favorable in the recent commercial market. SOLUTION: This heat ray reflecting glass is produced by forming a titanium nitride film on the principal surface of a glass plate and further forming a metal oxide film on the titanium nitride film. The glass plate has the basic glass compsn. consisting by wt.% of 65 to 80 SiO2, 0 to 5 Al2O3, 0 to 5 B2O3, 0 to 10 MgO, 5 to 15 CaO, 10 to 18 Na2O, 0 to 5 K2O, 5 to 15 MgO+CaO, 10 to 20 Na2+K2O, and a compsn. as a coloring component consisting of 0.30 to 1.30 iron oxide calculated as Fe2O3, 0 to 1.0 TiO2 and 0 to 200 ppm CoO with 0.2 to 0.58 ratio of (FeO calculated as Fe2O3)/(total iron oxide calculated as Fe2O3). The reflectance of visible rays measured on the non-contacted face of the glass plate is <=25%, and the reflection color on the non-coated face of the glass sheet is a green or blue-based color.
