PURPOSE:To smoothly produce the titled compound useful for the production of an alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester, in one step, by reacting an alkyl phosphonoacetate with alcohols in the presence of dimethylaminopyridine. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula II (e.g. diisopropyl-4- penten-1-oxycarbonylmethyl phosphonate) can be produced by reacting an alkyl phosphonoacetate of formula I (R<1> and R<4> are 1-4C alkyl; at least one of R<2> and R<3> is H and the other is H or 1-4C alkyl) (e.g. diisopropylmethoxycarbonylmethyl phosphonate) with alcohols of formula R<5>OH (e.g. 4-penten-1-ol) in the presence of 4-dimethylaminopyridine. |
