PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk reproducing system which is made to use the maxi mum reproducing speed and the maximum searching speed given by the system effectively. SOLUTION: This system is a disk reproducing system which retrieves the target position of a disk 2 on which data are recorded at a constant linear velocity by receiving the instruction from an external device and reads target information data to output information data in accordance with the reproducing format of the disk 2. When the address information of the newest address accessed by an access command are address information which are recorded at a peripheral side outer than the outermost address information of the disk 2 which are accessed till now, an outermost address storage circuit 21 updates stored address information to the newest address information and it decides the reference of the velocity control of the disk 2 based on the newest updated address information. A CAV control circuit 20 control the velocity of the disk 2 based on the decided reference.
