PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the light-resistance, and the ink absorbing property or the like by manufacturing an ink jet recording body by blending at least one kind of compound selected from a group comprising hydroquinone and hydroquinone derivatives such as arbutin, and jointly using a porous inorganic pigment or the like when desired. SOLUTION: This ink jet recording body is manufactured by blending at least one kind of compound selected from hydroquinone and hydroquinone derivatives. The ink jet recording body can be manufactured by applying and drying a coating liquid containing a compound such as hydroquinone, on a supporting body. The coating liquid preferably further contains a porous inorganic pigment and/or a cationic resin, and the average particle size of the porous inorganic pigment is preferably 1 μm or lower. Also, as concrete examples of hydroquinone and hydroguinone derivatives, hydroquinone, arbutin (hydroquinone-β-D-glucoside), hydroquinone monobenzil ether, and hydroquinone diacetate or the like can be counted. |
