PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a mailing device to a mailing post to perform an efficient reception of mail items and further enable a mailing path for the mail items to be chased. SOLUTION: When a person 1 puts a mail item 2 into a post 3, a size of the mail item 2 is detected by a size sensing section 5, and then a size retrieving section 8 inspects whether or not the size of the mail item 2 is coincided with size data accumulated at a regular size memory section 7. Then, in the case that the size of the mail item 2 is not coincided with a size stored in the regular size memory section 7, the mail item 2 is discharged out of a discharging port and in turn in the case that the size of the mail item 2 is coincided with the size stored in the regular size memory section 7, the mail item 2 is stored in the post 3.
