PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow printing operation even in the case where the data transmitting speed of a host processor is slower than the processing speed of a printing apparatus by disposing a reception buffer control device for monitoring and controlling the data accumulation state of a reception buffer and a device for setting a control information to the control device on a printing apparatus. SOLUTION: A reception buffer control device 4, when a reception buffer 1 is full or a time set by a reception buffer control information setting device 5 proceeds, allows a reception and edition part 2 to take out a data from the reception buffer 1, and in other cases, prohibits it to take out a data from the reception buffer 1. By use of the control device formed in this manner, printing can be done by the performance of the reception and edition part 2 and a printing mechanism part 3 during the period from a full of the reception buffer 1 to its empty state even when the data transmitting speed of a host processor is slower than the processing speed of the reception and edition part 2 and the printing mechanism part 3.
