PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract partial images from the plural image data of documents having columns with ruled lines and to put them together while adjusting the sizes and positions of column frames through automatic enlargement and reduction. SOLUTION: An editing part 32 cuts designated parts out of read images of documents consisting of plural pages stored in an input image memory 21 and synthesizes a new image. In the synthesized image, pieces of ruled-line information extracted automatically from pieces of image data are compared and when column ruled lines are different in length from each other, one piece of image data is enlarged or reduced by an enlargement/reduction part 33 to adjust the column length and column position and stored in an output image memory 22. The synthesized image data of the output image data are taken out to a recording part 6, etc., and outputted as a synthesized picture. |
