PURPOSE: A laser welding apparatus is provided to perform welding at high speed by maintaining a gap of two panels to be welded uniform by using a magnet. CONSTITUTION: A robot(51) moves to the welding position of a workpiece(54) to be welded. A welding head(52) irradiates laser beam to the workpiece to start welding. Herein, a magnet(53) is placed on the ends of two panels(54a,54b) of the workpiece. By the magnetic force from the magnet, the two panels are pulled and the gap between the two panels is maintained uniform in 0.1-0.2mm. The two panels are welded with each other by the robot performing welding while moving around the welding position. |
