PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device in which production of air bubbles can be prevented. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal device is produced by filling the space between a upper substrate 4 and a lower substrate 6 with a liquid crystal compsn. 7. This device has such a structure that when the liquid crystal device is opened under normal use conditions to introduce external air, the volume of the air introduced is <=3% of the volume of the liquid crystal compsn. 7. Therefore, bubbles are hardly produced by any external stimulation, and even when bubbles are produced, they can be eliminated in a short time.
