PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact, lightweight, thin and high-speed optical scanner. SOLUTION: Plural very-small apertures 3 are formed at a first thin plate 1 out of the plural thin plates and plural apertures 4 are formed at the second thin plate 2. Then, intervals between the plural apertures 3 of the first plate 1 and the plural apertures 4 of the second plate 2 are set so as to become finely different from one another. The second plate 2 is constituted so that it can be moved (slid) on the first plate 1 by a driving device 5. When the second plate 2 is moved, the aligned parts [shown by the aperture 6(3 and 4)] of the apertures 3 of the plate 1 and the apertures 4 of the plate 2 are successively moved. At this time, a scanning action by light coming out to an opposite side through the aligned parts [aperture 6(3 and 4)] of the apertures 3 and the apertures 4 can be executed by emitting the light from one side of the thin plate. By two-dimensionally forming the apertures 3 of the plate 1 and the apertures 4 of the plate 1 and two-dimensionally moving the second plate 2, the two-dimensional scanning action can be also executed.
