IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE FOR ENDOSCOPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device for an endoscope constituted so that the direction of the endoscope image of a TV monitor can be easily adjusted to the normal direction even when the direction of a TV camera is freely selected according to own preference. SOLUTION: This image pickup device for an endoscope is provided with an imaging device 62 picking up the endoscope image obtained by an optical viewing tube, an image forming optical system for forming the endoscope image on the imaging device 62 and a beam splitter 34 or a triangular prism 35 disposed in the image forming optical system so as to form the image pickup optical axis of the imaging device 62 in a direction that the image pickup optical axis for making the endoscope image incident on the imaging device 62 is orthogonally crossed to the longitudinal axis of an endoscope by changing the direction of the optical axis of the image forming optical system. Besides, it is provided with a rotation mechanism enabling the imaging device 62 to be rotated with the image pickup optical axis as a center and a fixing mechanism obstructing the rotation of the imaging device 62 so as to hold and fix it at that position.
