PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure an internal fat quantity by measuring a body impedance and calculating the fat quantity of the body to determine the internal fat quantity. SOLUTION: The body impedance for measuring the body fat quantity is measured by use of a Z-measuring means 1. The circumferential length of the abdomen is also measured by an abdomen circumferential length measuring means 2. The measurement results of both the measuring means 1, 2 are transmitted to a body fat quantity arithmetic means 3 to calculate the body fat quantity or internal fat quantity by use of a predetermined arithmetic method, and the result is displayed on a display means 4. The inverse of the body impedance per unit length is determined from the body impedance measured by the Z-measuring means 1, and the diameter of the abdomen is determined from the abdomen circumferential length measured by the abdomen circumferential length measuring means 2. The body fat quantity may also be judged from the ratio of a body impedance inverse to the abdomen diameter by the body fat quantity arithmetic means 3. Accordingly, the internal fat quantity can be measured. |
