PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make functions as same as possible without reducing size of gas exhaust chambers corresponding to both-side cell chambers and a central cell chamber, by mounting a lid comprising an inner lid and an upper lid to the upper part of a battery jar, and mounting a handle to the upper lid of a lead-acid battery having more than a specific number of gas exhaust chambers corresponding to respective cell chambers of the battery jar on the upper surface of the inner lid. SOLUTION: At least three gas exhaust chambers exist. The gas exhaust chambers 4a-4f are formed on the upper surface of an inner lid 2 corresponding to cell chambers of a battery jar. Each exhaust chamber is partitioned with vertical walls 8, has a hole inside, and is communicated with each cell chamber of the battery jar through a tube 5. An upper lid 3 is mounted to the upper surface of the exhaust chambers, a wall suspending at a position corresponding to the upper edges of the walls 8 is formed on the lower surface of the upper lid 3, the lower edges of the walls and the upper edges of the walls 8 are melted to isolate each exhaust chamber. Two places of a short-side surface of both right and left ends of the upper lid 3 are cut out to form mounting portions of a handle. The exhaust chambers 4a, 4f are at inward recessed positions, and have shorter width than the other exhaust chambers.
