PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring parallelism of two optical fibers in a two core parallel optical fiber ferrule simply and with high accuracy. SOLUTION: Forward end faces 2A of a two-core parallel optical fiber ferrule 1A, having two optical fibers F1, F2 inserted in parallel at an optical axis interval, are disposed facing opposite to the image pickup face 4 of an image pickup camera 3 in parallel therewith at an interval of L. Light from a light source 6 is made incident on the rear end faces of two optical fibers F1, F2, and optical images from the forward end faces 2A thereof are passed through the image pickup camera 3 and displayed on the screen of a monitor 5. An optical axis interval D between images Y1, Y2 of the optical fibers F1, F2 on the screen of the monitor 5 is then measured, and an angleθbetween each optical axis of two optical fibers F1, F2 and the images Y1, Y2 thereof on the screen of the monitor 5 is calculated according to a formula. Parallelism of the optical fibers F1, F2 is determined from the angleθ.
