PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a cumulative space charge distribution of a power cable whereby the cumulative space charge distribution can be correctly measured in a state with thermal deformation of the power cable being completely restricted even when the power cable easy to thermally deform, e.g. crosslinked polyethylene-insulated power cable is measured under high temperatures. SOLUTION: After an outer semiconductive layer 4 of a middle part of a power cable 1 of a predetermined length is exposed, a measurement electrode is brought in contact with the outer semiconductive layer 4. The power cable 1 is heated then. A cumulative space charge distribution in an insulator 3 is thus measured according to the measurement method. The measurement electrode used is an electrode 19 shaped like a half ring which has an inner circumferential face that can contact an outer circumferential face of a lower half of the power cable 1 when the power cable 1 is placed in a horizontal direction.
